Madison “Madi” Rae Torres, 16, became another suicide statistic on the night of October 20, 2015. She was born in Denville and was a lifelong resident of Boonton. Madison was a student at Morris Catholic High School where she played volleyball and softball and was a member of the school stage crew. Madison was also a member of the National Honor Society for Science and the Pro Life club. As a parishioner of the Roman Catholic Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Boonton, Madison was an Altar Server and Eucharistic Minister at the Saturday evening Mass. As a member of the Franciscan Mystery Players, Madison was a participant in the reenactment of the Passion of Christ at various churches.
Madi was known for being a “rae” of light to all those around her. Therefore, in her loving memory this website will be dedicated to those that feel as if you’re in the darkness, to know that you are not alone, you are loved and Madi’s beacon, her “Rae Of Hope” will help guide you out to stem the tide of these devastating and senseless losses from suicide.
